More and more groups of men are shunning the traditional stag party destinations of Bournemouth, Blackpool, and Brighton. Getting the best out of a Barcelona stag weekend. They are instead heading to sunny European cities such as Barcelona for their pre-nuptial shenanigans. The fact that people are getting married later in life now means they have more disposable income to spend on something a bit unique.

Not only can guys enjoy plenty of San Miguel and some top nightlife, but they can also take advantage of fantastic food, architecture, a whole host of activities, and good weather. By day, a tour of the world-famous Nou Camp is a great way to get a dose of footballing history while avoiding the crowds of the city centre, being located in a picturesque suburb in the North West. A hop across to the town of Granollers, twenty or so miles North of the city, reveals the Kartodrom Catalunya. On this fantastic outdoor go-karting track, you can go solo or buddy up with one of your fellow staggers in the dual-pilot kart.

In terms of activities to enjoy once the sun goes down. You should escape the westernized tapas bars and dine how the locals do. The Barrio Gotico or Gothic Quarter is an excellent place to start, with many quiet squares lined with quirky restaurants and bars offering excellent local fayre, often to the soundtrack of street musicians. If fish is your thing then Barceloneta offers many eateries serving fresh, locally caught delicacies. Try 7 Portes, home to the city’s best paella, the perfect dish for sharing between large groups.

Barcelona is legendary for its nightlife; most clubs remain open early. BeCool, tucked away just off Avenida Diagonal, is memorable for its revolving dance floor and is frequented by lots of gorgeous local girls, always a hit with stag groups in the know! Macarena Club is centrally located just off La Rambla and is as intimate as they come. But don’t let that put you off because the atmosphere and quality of music on a busy night are hard to beat. For an open-air clubbing experience, La Terraza on Montjuic is pretty unbeatable. The alfresco ambiance brings out all of the lovely ladies, something for stag parties to take note of!
